I am lucky to be alive...offered HRT at a Well Womens clinic ..took it..within 3 months bloated,periods stopped and gastric pain,after 6 months white stools,agonising pains..endless trips to A+E..unnecessay surgery..finally unable to urinate..emergency doc checking to see if I had a "tropical disease" Finally twigged it was HRT..stopped immediately and anti anxiety meds too. Took massive seizures and a host of other terrible symptoms., confusion, shaking, temporary Diabetes,peeling skin,spacial difficulties,fits,IBS, tubal pain,dry eyes and more.feared for my life and sanity.Docs responses..denial!! Showed docs all the internet stuff but still denial..voice and speech affected doc offered Brain Scan then referral to pyschiatric unit.OMG worst experience of my life and 2years on I still suffer..I know I am the 1 in a million but my lack of treatment and the abysmal lack of knowledge by the GPs I attended has left me paranoid and scared. I did not need this drug and am horrified it could be dispensed over the counter. BEWARE..you may be OK but you could end up like me or worse and believe me there is no redress or justice if you are affected...I know now it is a Cash Cow for the drug companies,but I am wise after the event.My God it was a biological weapon in my body |

Been going to docs with flu symptoms terrible aches muscle spasms nervous system disorders for years and basically been labelled neurotic. i believed this drug was helping me until I began my own research. Actually cried when I read your list of symptoms and realised I may not be mad after all!! Now trying to wean myself off the stuff. Wasted years of my life!! I was on 1.25 Premarin for 11 years following a total hysterectomy at the age of 43. Doctors told me it was good for me but I put on weight, had blurred vision (prescribed glasses) had a "foggy" head (thought it was just me being thick) and then started getting headaches & migraines so doctor told me to stap taking it. A month later apart from hot flushes (which are no big deal) I feel great - clear headed and full of energy. I wish I'd never taken it in the first place and feel like its held me back at work & in life in general. |

it has taken from 1996 to present date to bring out some of the truth. In 1998 Maggie Tuttle first gave to the press and the world the truth of h.r.t. and how it was affecting women and young girls health, and causing Cancer, memory loss and so much more, I was one of those women at Maggies Conference in 1998 at Brighton, I thought I was a well women on H.R.T. UNTILL I heard Maggie and the Doctors speaking, then I knew I had been lied to by the Doctors, I am now a well person and should I become sick, then I now cure my self, with herbs, I will never trust a Doctor again, which is a shame, because not all Doctors are bad, just lied to by the Pharmasutical Companies, to sell their drugs.
Keep up the good work Maggie I and many others are still with you.

I feel not enough help and support is given. i have been on harmonin for 17yrs and have been described as epileptic for the same amount until they recently agreed i had no reason to have been prescribed as this. I am now fighting to find out why i feel as i do. Turns/numbness of one side of the body, cramps etc if anyone can give advice please do. |

I tried the oral HRT first and got terrible nausea, then tried the patches and experienced both nausea and anxiety. Later I went onto "Livial" which is estrogen/progesterone combined in one pill. Felt fabulous for the first few days - no nausea or anxiety so thought it was working! Then several days' later I could hardly walk - the pain in my ankles was so bad. I have had x-rays & all show up as fine - no fractures. Also had tests for gout and this showed up negative. This happened about one month ago and I am still experiencing severe pain in my left ankle. My doctor doesn't think this is linked to HRT but I am certain it was not a co-incidence that soon after I began taking HRT these symptoms began (I've never had any problems with my legs, feet or ankles before in my life). |

every thing that maggie tuttle has stated i agree with, my body felt like there where hundreds of ants crawling beneath my skin, the itching drove me to despair, along with blood pressure, severe flushes, i was also hospitalized for 2 weeks and no one knew why i had to be put on a drip, my body was closing down. good on you maggie. |

The problem with HRT is that it is made from the estrogen of female horses so of course the human body won't assimilate it well. Changing to bioidentical hormones (from humans) has proven effective and safe! |

This over-counter prescription should not be available to vulnerable women. Since it is a steroid hormone it should not be given freely without medical advice. Responsible chemist should refuse to co-operate,a little knowledge is a dangerous thing! Steroids require monitoring and is a potentially dangerous drug. The government in effect are treating the women of this country with contempt,making the supposition that we are illiterate and of little consequence or perhaps the devil is using us? |
